The primary teaching responsibility of the person holding this position will be to provide quality instruction for the beginning and intermediate mathematics and statistics courses for the Mathematics Department. In addition to teaching, the individual hired will be expected to contribute to the Department, the College, and the University through service. Excellence in teaching is expected, both in the classroom and in mentoring students outside the classroom. The teaching load is 24 credit hours per Academic Year.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s in Mathematics, Math Education, or a closely related discipline
- Experience with and capable of teaching beginning and intermediate non-corequisite and corequisite mathematics classes
- Capable of teaching beginning and intermediate non-corequisite and corequisite statistics classes
- Demonstrated evidence of teaching experience at the university level
- Willingness to develop and teach online and hyflex courses
- Experience in and strong commitment to teaching General Education courses offered in the Department of Mathematics and working with at risk students
- Willingness to work with other departments and colleges at this university, for example, computer technology, social sciences, biological sciences, business, allied health professions, and nursing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in learning management systems such as Pearson MyLab, D2L, Canvas, Blackboard, or Cengage MindTap
- The ability and interest necessary to advance the Department’s agenda in curriculum reform and in online and hyflex education
- University level teaching experience in both online and in-person courses
- Management skills for collaborative courses, projects, and/or partnerships
