Library Tech II

As part of a team, this position may be called upon to work at the Library’s University campus to backfill the Ask Here Desk schedule as needed. Expected work hours will be Monday through Friday between 9:00 am – 3:00 pm for a total of 20 hours per week.

• Answer informational, directional, and user services questions, referring more complex questions to appropriate library staff.
• Work closely with the Library staff to provide excellent customer service, uphold best practices for user privacy and maintain confidentiality while working with users.
• Work cooperatively with all library staff, other campus departments, and other libraries, including partners in our Library consortia, Treasure State Academic Information & Library Services (TRAILS). • Participate in collection management decisions.
• Work with the Student Success Librarian to initiate, plan, oversee, and conduct a variety of programs and activities to encourage the use of the City College Library by students, staff, and faculty.
• Assist in other library responsibilities as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires sufficient mobility to work in a library setting and operate office equipment. Able to lift, pull, and carry at least 40 lbs. Additional physical demands may include: stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching overhead and horizontally, working in a dusty environment and handling dusty materials, repetitive hand movements, sitting for extended periods of time, and long periods of screen time.
