Assistant Professor - English Philosophy & Modern Languages
The Department of English, Philosophy and Modern Languages invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of English Literature with specialization in Global Literatures, Comparative Literature, or Transnational Literatures, preferably with a focus on indigenous literature to begin Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in world literature and multicultural literature with the possibility of teaching other writing and literature courses during the academic year. Opportunities to develop additional courses in the candidate’s specialty area exist. Other expected duties include advising students; service to the department, college, and/or university committees; contributions to the department’s ongoing assessment and curricular needs; and an active research, presentation, and publication agenda. The teaching load for an Assistant Professor at MSUB is 21 credits for the academic year. Summer teaching opportunities are available but are not required.
