Land Survey Technician

Morrison-Maierle has an exciting job opportunity for a Land Survey Technician in our Billings, Montana office. You will be working alongside a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), who will guide you through all kinds of land surveying and construction staking, allowing you to gain invaluable experience and grow your career.
 
Land Survey Technician responsibilities will include operating Trimble GNSS, conventional, and robotic equipment, processing survey data using Trimble Business Center, drafting exhibits, plats, and Certificates of Survey using ACAD Civil 3D, assisting with sUAS (drone) operations for photogrammetric mapping, and assisting with 3D laser scanning operations.
 
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma. An Associate surveying degree or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution is preferred. LSI certification preferred. Two years of experience in control, boundary, topographic, and construction staking preferred.
 
Value-added skills or certifications include:

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center, Trimble Real/Works, Pix4d, and Trimble field equipment, including 3D scanners
  • Drafting or GIS experience
  • sUAS part 107 Certification
   
Occasional out-of-town work required. Must have valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
 
Salary:            $45,000 - $60,000/year
