This position is the Maintenance Electrician for the MSU-Billings Office of Facilities Services, The position is responsible for the general maintenance and operation of the campus electrical system. The position reports to the Executive Directive of Facilities Services.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• General maintenance and operation of the campus electrical system
• Project layout and planning, underground installations, thin wall and rigid conduit raceway systems· and installing services, switchboards and panels; as well as floor dud installations; installing splicing and terminating wires and cables; and cable tray installation.
• Installation of fiber optic cable and services, data and telephone cable, and troubleshoot motors, transformers, electrical devices, magnetic devices, lighting and power circuits, equipment and machinery, control circuits and devices.
• Respond to and take appropriate action to resolve all emergency calls during work hours, after hours, weekends-and holidays
• Estimate on materials and time needed to complete job…
• Install, repair and troubleshoot centrifugal, submersible, rotary and multistage pumps.

Required Qualifications: 

• Minimum of two years documented experience as a State of Montana journeyman electrician licensed required.
• Working knowledge of standard electrical practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment, safety precautions;
• Skilled in the use of related hand and power tools;
• Ability to work from blueprints, plans, sketches and specifications;
• Ability to communicate effectively with personnel, clients, supervisors, etc.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-worker
