CASA of Yellowstone County is a local non-profit that is hiring an Outreach Coordinator. Our mission is to advocate for a safe and permanent home for children in foster care.

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and engaging potential volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) for children in foster care. This role involves implementing outreach strategies to build community awareness and partnerships, ensuring a steady pipeline of dedicated volunteers to meet the needs of children in the CASA program.

Essential job functions include:

Volunteer Recruitment:

  • Develop and execute recruitment activities to attract a diverse population of CASA volunteers.
  • Conduct presentations and webinars to community groups, businesses, and other organizations to promote CASA and recruit volunteers.
  • Facilitate information sessions for potential volunteers on a regular basis.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local universities, community organizations, faith-based groups, and businesses to create volunteer recruitment opportunities.
  • Organize and manage recruitment events with the support of CASA staff and/or Advocate Ambassadors.
  • Attend community events, fairs, and other public gatherings to increase visibility and attract potential volunteers.

Community Outreach and Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Events Coordinator to develop and distribute promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, social media content, and newsletters.
  • Foster relationships with community leaders, local media, and other stakeholders to enhance CASA’s presence in the community.

Volunteer Screening and Onboarding:

  • Follow up with all interested volunteers after recruitment events, information sessions, and general volunteer inquiries.
  • Manage the volunteer application process, including conducting initial screenings, interviews, reference checks, and background checks, while organizing, uploading, and maintaining advocate documents in the case management system.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective volunteers, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
  • Assess and determine the suitability of prospective volunteers for the organization, including the discretion to decide if an individual will move forward to the training stage.
  • Facilitate a warm handoff to the training coordinator by providing a comprehensive introduction and ensuring the volunteer feels supported and informed throughout the transition.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, volunteer applications, and outreach efforts.
  • Track and analyze recruitment and retention metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and adjust as needed.
  • Prepare regular reports on recruitment and outreach activities.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with other CASA staff to ensure alignment of recruitment and outreach efforts with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for volunteer and staff background checks.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other organizational activities.
  • Assist with other tasks and special projects as needed to support the CASA program.
  • Provide office coverage when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and or Experience: Associate’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in volunteer recruitment, community outreach, or related role OR a combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Proof of valid driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition and liability insurance must be on file at all times.

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to pass national and state fingerprint-based criminal background checks, Child Abuse/Neglect Registry, and sexual and violent offender registries.

Successful completion of advocate pre-service training required by CASA of Yellowstone County within six months of hire.

Complete 10 additional hours of specialized training in marketing, social media, volunteer recruitment, and/or fundraising, within six months of hire.

Obtain a Public Notary commission within six months of hire (at the expense of CASA).

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
