    Duties and Responsibilities

    Physical Chemistry, Assistant Professor: Tenure Track, 1.0 FTE, Appointment in the Department of Biological and Physical Sciences, Fall 2023. Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, or Chemical Physics. Appointment will be within the College of Health Professions and Science and housed within our newly renovated state-of-the-art facility. Instructional duties include teaching Physical Chemistry I and II with Lab, Physics I and II with Lab, Intro to General Chemistry, Our Physical World, and other courses as needs dictate. Establishment of a discipline-related research program involving undergraduates is expected. Evidence of high quality, innovative college teaching experience and potential for productive, externally-funded research in an undergraduate, liberal arts setting are required.

    Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

    • PhD in Physical Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, or Chemical Physics

    Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

    • PhD in Physical Chemistry or Chemical Physics
    • Evidence of successful teaching experience at the university level
    • Evidence of potential for productive research involving undergraduates
    • Interest in laser spectroscopy, computational chemistry, or electrochemistry
