Coffee with Commissioner Ostlund
Coffee with Councilpersons/Commissioners is a monthly event that connects Chamber members to their local elected officials. The hour-long coffee session intends to familiarize members with their local elected officials and discuss issues of importance in the business community.
In 2002, John retired from the Yellowstone County Road and Bridge Department as the Road and Bridge Superintendent. John was elected a Yellowstone County Commissioner for District One and is now in his 16th year, working to lead the county. John is active in the aviation community, holds a commercial flight certificate with single engine airplanes, multi engine airplanes and rotorcraft ratings and, with his business partner Bob, owns and operates an airplane storage business in Laurel. John and Kristie live on a ranch south of Billings with 2 dogs, and a cat and raise dry land alfalfa. John is proud to be an honorary member of the Billings Motorcycle Club, Chairman of the Montana Association of Counties Transportation Committee, as well as serving on numerous boards.
